What we do

The Past - Rainbow House

Founded in 2007, Rainbow House is home for 45 children who would otherwise have nowhere to go. Over 200 children have called Rainbow House home at one point. For instance Baraka age 23 was one of Rainbow’s earliest child, now studying Mathematics at Egerton Njoro University.

The Future

We are currently in the process of finalising out future plans, but rest assured, we remain committed to continuing our support for the children for whom we have previously provided residential care.

We Prioritise Education

At Rainbow House we believe education is key to sustain a strong future our children and the Rainbow community. All the children come from difficult backgrounds and Rainbow gives them a family. Rainbow consistantly provides our children with opportuneties such as funding for private education until 18 years old. Over 75% of the children who have passed through Rainbow House have moved into advanced employement.

Some of our stories

Baraka Ritchie Dzombo

Baracka was the fourth child admitted to Rainbow House. Baracka worked extremely hard through primary and secondary education. Because of his determination too succeed, he recieved high grades at the end of school and is now one year away from completing his bachelor degree at Egerton Njoro university.

Fridah Kache

Fridah joined Rainbow House at the age of 5 as an orphan. Fridah is now her last year at university in Nairobi studying hotel management and hospitality.

Anita Dzombo

Anita finished secondary education last year. She recently recieved outstanding final grades and has been accepted to university to study medicine, as she intends to be a doctor. Anita is the first ever Rainbow child to do a degree in medicine so we are all so proud of her.
